The overall design of direct drive wind turbine control system, set up a direct drive wind power experimental pilot study in a lab environment.The paper first introduces the basic theory of the direct drive wind turbine, the working principle and operation process, obtained direct drive wind turbine control system design requirements, structure and function, on the basis of direct drive wind the generator set control system for the overall design. The control system is one of the core component of the entire wind turbine, which directly affects the efficiency, safety and reliability of the unit, the paper analyzes the function of the host controller based on ARM, and the main control system, variable pitch control system, the yaw control system and the converter system design.On the basis of direct drive wind turbine control system design, for experimental purposes, in a lab environment to build a direct-drive wind power physics experiments, the experimental system including the main control system, servo drive systems and servo motor, the converter control system and converter and direct drive permanent magnet generator. The structures of the experimental system, the ability to easily conduct various experiments and research to further improve the running at the scene of the direct drive wind turbine controller and control algorithm.Physics experiment of direct drive wind turbine system designed in this paper uses a hierarchical control structure:the ARM platform, the main controller is the highest level of the experimental system, able to receive from the servo control system of wind parameters as well as from converter power control system parameters and the corresponding control command issued; servo control system with PLC controller and DSP controller converter control system is in the lower deck of the main controller of the respective servo motors and generators controlled. In addition, the experimental system has improved the design of the ARM-Linux as a platform for the main controller and a graphical interface based on QT/E control procedures. The entire system of communication based on the CAN bus architecture, the design development of the physical experimental system and improve the host controller to complete the entire wind turbine operation simulation and control simulation.
