Distributed Power Flow can overcome the problems caused by large scale grid and wide-area distribution data in control centers, but the current research on distributed Power Flow is still on the theoretical level. Most existing algorithms have not considered the application in dispatch centers, and lack tests of practical performance of wide area network. For a purpose of implementing Asynchronous Iterative distributed Power Flow Calculation System, this paper introduced CORBA technologies as underlying communication platform, such as the CORBA Naming Service, Asynchronous Method Invocation (AMI), designes and developes an Asynchronous Iterative distributed Power Flow Calculation System on CORBA and creates the distribute managing mechanisms like registering, activating, starting, which are suit for the mode of Asynchronous Iterative. The proposed system solves some key problems, such as, the all-in-one modeling problem of distributed calculation with large overlapped areas on the edge of the real networks, the start problem when distributed subsystem must start at the same time and the conflict resolution problem with subsystems starting calculation together through CORBA, the application problem throuth developing the interface of OPEN3000and embeding it. The proposed system is tested in a practical system of Shenzhen Regional Dispatch Center. The applicability and the effectiveness of asynchronous iteration of the proposed system are demonstrated by the results of the test. By simulating WAN, the speed, robustness and the effectiveness of asynchronous iteration are further tested in the IEEE-118system, and the effectiveness of the system is proved again.
