With the new development of power system, it advances high demand for power system simulation software. The software is developing towards the direction of distributed mutual, large scale real-time, whole process and whole scope.In order to meet this trend, this paper proposes a power system simulation framework based on CORBA which is good at the resolution of distributed computation on the base of CORBA studying. The framework adopts the method of layer division in vertical direction and the method of area division in horizontal. Otherwise, in order to give facility to the integration of simulation software and others, simulation database builded conforms to IEC61970. So the framework have good maintainability, expansibility and flexibility.On the base of theory studying, aim at power flow calculation, the paper firstly develops a component library of transmiting and transforming electricity and a component of power flow calculation using CORBA, designs a visual flow calculation simulation software which finish the mostly work of modeling and simulation by calling for encapsuled components. It have friend environment of system modeling and result showing and realizes continuous simulation for power flow.
