Today’s world, energy is more and more important and environment is deteriorating, the clean coal power generation technology has been rapid development to adapt this situation. The circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology is one of the clean coal power generation technologies. This technology have some characteristics, such as the system is simple, low cost of pollution control, coal adaptability is better and so on. Therefore, CFB technology has been widely used. Slag cooler is an important part of the circulating fluidized bed boiler. Furnace materials could store at the same time it can maintain the furnace and flow conditions effectively, and it has the capable of recovering heat from the slag. Choose the equipment type suitability or not have attracted more and more attention.According to this situation, this paper demonstrates the application of slag cooler system in the circulating fluidized bed boiler. We study the advantages and disadvantages of slag cooler system in the application. The work carries out by technical, economic, practical and other aspects, then take some practical engineering cases. So we have achieved several results. After comprehensive discussions, the roller slag cooler and Wind and water joint slag cooler have respective advantages and disadvantages in the application, but colligated with the technical, economic, practical and other various reasons, wind and water joint slag cooler is the developed direction of circulating fluidized bed boiler cooling slag. wind and water joint slag cooler have recommended to725t/h circulating fluidized bed boiler slag cooler of Wang Ping power plant, and complete with the cooling air and cooling water systems.By the actual operation, wind and water joint slag cooler and its system have improved. The paper demonstrated the economic viability of the system before and after the improvement by compares with the main technical and economic indicators. In addition, with the rapid development of the slag cooler, after the transformation, wind and water joint slag cooler will be greatly strengthened for the waste heat recovery, and its advantages will become more apparent.
