With the improvement of living standards, the motor vehicle has become an indispensablemeans of transport in the daily lives of people, including a higher utilization rate ofmotorcycle in many developing. Following, the environmental problems caused by vehicleexhaust emissions are beginning to receive attention. It is hoped that the higher performanceof a motorcycle outside, should also be more economical and more environmentally friendly.Therefore related to environmental protection regulations frequently introduced and updated.In this paper, we research and know that the development of China’s motorcycle standardswas reference the European standards system. Before the introduction of the National Threestandard, China’s main products was in line with Euro Two or Euro Three standard, and themedium and small displacement motorcycles what was sale in China only in line with EuroTwo standard. After the introduction of the National Three standard, the key issues are that,how to innovate on the basis of the technology, improve product performance and reduceharmful emissions to in line with new national standards.Ignition technology is the key technology that impact on the performance of motorcycleengine. In this paper, we research several motorcycle ignition technology what be used inChina, discovery and raised a few question that impact of the development of ignitiontechnology, and discovery that, the ignition energy and ignition advance angle is the mostimportant factor. We combine the advantages and disadvantages of these ignition technologies.The solution has been proposed for these problems. On the basis of these solutions, we use thecurrent single-chip and circuit technology to design a new ignition.In this paper, we designs and implements a new type of ignition on the basis of the solutions.Through compare of the new ignition and the old ignition on the basis of test data, what becollected on the dynamometer, the new ignition’s performance is indeed better than theoriginal ignition system, the new ignition can effectively improve the power performance andeconomic performance of the engine. At the end of this paper, some of the problemsencountered in the design are discussed, and look into the future of research work.
