With the fast development of automobile industry, it becomes more and more manifested that the Engine Management System Technology keeps monopolized by foreign enterprises, so that it has been a certain tendency that EMS should be developed for commercial process.Ignition Control Module (ICM) is one of the key control module of EMS. There've been many domestic people engaged in the research of ICM and have put forward all kinds of control theories. However, due to the lack of direct market demand, it's difficult for their research results to get in volume production and the suppliers system of the OEMs, also, it's difficult to sovle the embarrassed issues of seller's market involved by OEMs. Ignition advance angle (IAA) and Ignition energy (IE) are the key indexes to evaluate the characteristics of the gasoline engine's ignition system, which influences the dynamic characteristics and fuel economy of gasoline engine directly. With lower ignition energy, the engine's power and torque will be reduced and the fuel consumption will rise to make the exhaust situation worse even stops the engine; With higher ignition energy, it will make the ignition energy wasted, meanwhile shorten the ignition system's lifetime. Based on the same principle, if the ignition advance angle comes early, knocking will come out to make the piston rise with additional resistance, which will reduce the efficiency and sharpen the attrition, this situation should be prevented. IF the ignition advance angle comes late, the efficiency of gas working will get lower with much noise of exhuast. No matter early or late does the ingition advance angle come, the increasement of the speed of rotation will be influenced.The article analyzes the actual calculation methods on the best solution on the ignition advance angle and ignition energy in detail on different operation conditions, based on the actual engine operation conditions of all possibilities. According to the calculation method of ignition control, and by means of harware control and software programming, it has been carlibrated on test bench and tested based on the most popular domestic engine type of 465Q. The ideal matching parameters have been achieved, as well as every index's data of engine have meeted the design requirements.
