Due to the destruction from all kinds of nature and man-made factors, many buildingsbuilt in last century show that they can not meet ultimate limit states or serviceability limitstates and need strengthening. In the existing methods of strengthening, bonding steel hasmany advantages such as simple construction, small site workload, little change of memberssection size, less weight increasing, significantly improving of capacity and obviouslyimproving of stiffness and ductility, that make it favoured by owners and engineering staffs,widely applied in the actual reinforcement engineering. So the study has high academic valueand applicable valueAt present the research on reinforcement of bonding steel mainly depends on theexperiment, with mature of the nonlinear finite element method and rapid development ofcomputer technology, it is very necessary that the finite element method was used in scientificresearch as a complement to the experiment. Currently, the research on reinforcement ofbonding steel,whether the experiment or numerical simulation, always focused on a singlemember or the performance of the joint itself after reinforcement, little research focuses onthe influence on the surrounding areas by beam strengthened of bonding steel from the whole.So this paper will take a two-cross and two-layer framework as the research object, discussthe influence on the surrounding areas, especially the performance of the joint when the beamis strengthened by bonding steel, using ABAQUS software.The fundamental principles of beam strengthened by bonding steel on RC flexuralmembers and the calculation of load carrying capacity are mainly explained in the paper. Therelated theory, damage forms, and shear failure mechanism of node analysis are also discussedin the article.The specific method of material constitutive model and finite element model andanalysis in detail are also introduced. In this paper, an existing framework test was choosed asa prototype. By changing the position of the steel plate, load on the beam, thick of the steelplate, the axial compressive ratio and the set of U shape hoop in the frame, an analysis ismade on the RC frame and surrounding joints of different bonding steel cases. There is acomparison with the model of non-seismic node.
