Due to the special operation mode, marine fishing vessels are high energy consumptionships, so the problem of energy-saving and emission reduction becomes increasinglyprominent. In this work, based on the great amounts of related documents of domestic andforeign, propulsive efficiency of power setting for marine fishing vessels is analyzed,matching of the hull-engine-propeller is discussed, shaft power measurement andoptimization of power setting is put forward, and an actual ship is introduced. The mainlyaspects of this paper are as follows:Firstly, with the related documents analysis and research of domestic and foreign, it isdeduced that research on energy-saving and emission reduction of power setting for marinefishing vessels is important and impendency. The current condition of energy-saving andemission reduction for marine fishing vessels is analyzed, some problems are put forward,and related researches in domestic and foreign are detailed discussed.Secondly, theory foundation of energy-saving of power setting for marine fishing vesselsis analyzed in the view of thermodynamics. According to the definition of propellercoefficient, reducing fuel consuming of host engine and improve propeller efficiency, aregreatly influenced by ship resistance, propeller’s pushing performance and matching of thehull-engine-propeller, etc. Combined with special operation mode of marine fishing vessels,the complex of power setting is analyzed, and project of energy-saving and emissionreduction about matching of the hull-engine-propeller and optimization of power setting arebrought forward.Thirdly, theoretical investigation is carried through for shaft power measurement ofvessel. Combining with shaft power-speed characteristic map, optimization layout of powersetting for fishing vessels is analyzed in theory. By measuring shaft power for fishing vessels,shipyard and ship-owner can not only find the technical condition of host engine but alsojudge matching of the hull-engine-propeller, which will ensure the host engine and the wholevessel keep nice condition.Lastly, combined with an actual36.3m marine fishing vessel, design of principaldimensions, shipform, stability, outfitting, mechanics and electronics are introduced,respectively. Practice has proved that this vessel is long dimensions, good stability, greattowing force, rapid speed and carrying more cargo, in addition, its mechanics and electronicsmatching well, fishing equipments durable, the main technical parameters achieved thedomestic advanced level and is a nice energy-saving and emission reduction ship form.In this work, some current problems of energy-saving and emission reduction for marinefishing vessels are analyzed, design and measures of energy-saving and emission reductionare put forward in the view of matching of the hull-engine-propeller and optimization ofpower setting. But, the whole level of energy-saving and emission reduction in our country isstill low and very behind. In the future, more new products, new material, new crafts and newtechniques about energy-saving and emission reduction should be studied and applied, whichwill make a contribution to develop low carbon fishing for our country.
