With the advantages of flexible layout, independently controllable power, superior performance, In-wheel Motor Driven EV has become an important direction of future EV development. Switched Reluctance Motor has the advantages of simple structure, reliable operation, low manufacturing cost, wide speed range, high efficiency, it is suitable as an EV drive source. For the purpose of engineering practice, this thesis has designed an EV drive controller, including the following:Firstly, reviews the development of EV all over the world, including the current status of drive motor, chassis control, and drive manner. In conclusion, SRM has advantage when used in wheel drive EV.Secondly, has given the structure and operating principle of SRM, modeling the mathematical model based on linear model approach, and describes the control strategy, then uses software analyze the finite element simulation of outer rotor SRM according to the performance. At the same time, the overall design structure is given, and the prototype is produced. This thesis adopt two In-wheel motor to drive EV, the most important issue to be solved is the coordinated movement between two driving wheels, propose using the experimental method to establish the relationship between phase current and torque, and then look-up table to control phase current indirect control motor torque.Thirdly, has described the operating principle of the traditional automotive mechanical differential. The relationship between best torque ratio and vehicle speed, steering angle is given when consider the effect of vehicle centrifugal force. According to the requirement of differential speed control, has designed an iGMR-based non-contact absolute angular position sensor. The experimental result proved that this sensor can meet the test requirement of this thesis.Finally, a single DSP-based two SRM controller used to drive EV is researched, the prototype of control system is produced, and the turn-on and turn-off angle is optimized using experimental method. So, the relationship between phase current and electromagnetic torque is established, and the purpose of electric differential is reached through the allocation of two motor phase current.
