Line loss reduction is the key of line loss research, and a correct evaluation of line loss has been the top priority of line loss research. In the paper, power loss reduction analysis and evaluation methods have been studied from the angles of static analyses and dynamic analyses by the qualitative and quantitative union, and a new line loss assessment method has been proposed. According to the analysis, it is more convenient to find out the reason of loss changes and develop more effective and reasonable loss reduction measures to provide reference for the power grid enterprise line loss assessment. Therefore, this research is of great significance.Firstly, the paper expounds the concept of line loss rate and its influencing factors which are structural parameters and operation parameters of the power grid. The paper establishes expressions between network loss and the main component parameters of the grid, analyzes operation parameters that impact the line loss, and give preliminary study on the relationship between the operation parameters and the power line loss. Meanwhile, based on the influencing factors, the paper analyzes the related loss reduction strategies, which provides theoretical basis for the next loss reduction analysis and accurate evaluation.Then, combined with the concept of sensitivity, the line loss rate indicator generally used in the current research is evaluated. According to expression of the power grid line loss rate, the sensitivity of line loss rate to the main parameters is derived, and the condition of minimum loss is obtained. The paper also analyzes the influence on the line loss caused by power supply and power line loss in different voltage levels. A new kind of indicator to assess the grid line loss level which can effectively give tips to the line loss increasing caused by reactive power is proposed for the influence of reactive power on the line loss. Moreover, the paper gives reasonable interpretation and analysis for the influence of long-distance active power transmission to the power grid line loss rate change.Finally, the paper brings forward a loss reduction probability evaluation method under the fluctuation conditions of load. Based on Monte carlo simulation, the expectation and variance of supply power, line loss power, and line loss rate are obtained in a certain number of simulation time. By comparing the statistics results of the loss calculation in different loss reduction measures, the paper gives quality assessment for loss reduction measures. At the same time, based on the proposed algorithm, the realization of programming and loss reduction assessment software development promotes the further improvement of the power grid loss reduction and evaluation system software.
