In order to meet the requirements of the Mass Customization, most of the auto companies have adopted the mixed model assembly line. As he multi-species hybrid assembly line is so complexity, that how to ensure the stability and the timely supply of the required materials, how to schedule and plan effectively for the assembly line running efficiently and orderly, is an important issue for enterprises. Taking the general assembly line of a car business enterprise as the research object, using the computer simulation tools to model the mixed model assembly line, using the experimental tools to optimize the device configuration and supplies, and using the genetic algorithm to optimize the mixed model production sequence, this paper obtains good effects.First the paper introduces the theories of the production system simulation, summarizes and analyzes the applications of simulation in a production system, and analyzes the automotive hybrid assembly system.This paper develops a basic simulation framework for hybrid assembly according to the structure and characteristics of the mixed model assembly line. Then analysis an assembly line of a car company, determines the parameters, strategies and rules of the systems according to the actual situation of the assembly line, and uses the Plant Simulation software to model the mixed assembly line. After the model confirmation, this paper runs the simulation experiments by the problems of the actual system, to analyze the production line balance and bottleneck, to set the materials supply system, to optimize and improve the program, and forecasts the effect of the optimized scheme. Then analyzes the mixed model assembly production sequence, proposes three goals for the optimization, designs a genetic algorithm combined with the model simulation, and optimizes the sequence of the orders in actual system.The research of this paper for the mixed model assembly line based on Plant simulation, has obtained good results for optimization of the production bottlenecks, the material supply system and production sequence, and the performance indicators of mixed model assembly line have been improved.
