| At present, the light weight optimal design of automobile is one of the key technologiesin the world automobile industry, which has already been paid attention to more and more byall carmakers. The implementation of light weight not only reduce the consumption of energysource and the emission of automotive exhaust, but also improve the comprehensivecompetitive capacity of the types of the vehicle.Rear axle is a part of weight which under thesprings. Its lightening design can improve acceleration, stability and maneuverability ofautomobile, which has greater significance and better effect.Thte article based on the structure of the rear axle, combined the function of reducerassembly, axle housing assembly, axle shaft assembly etc., poses the thinking and methods oflight weight. The gear of main driving gear is to be redesigned so as to reduce dimension, inthe meantime, the reducer shell is also to be optimized the author advised to adopt the tube andupper and lower with high-strength material for axle housing assembly, changing the designwith the overall dimension.About the axle shaft,we adopt the optimization of overalldimension and the improvement of material. The key parts are checked and calculated intheory too, including gears, axle housing assembly, axle shaft and so on.Based on the design results, this paper introduced some practical test, such as the statictorsion test for assembly, static torsion test for axle shaft, fatigue test for gear on reducerassembly, vertical and bending fatigue test for axle housing, vertical and bending stiffness testfor axle housing, vertical and bending static strength test for axle housing and so on,and thepaper also analysed, and researched the results of the practical test. The results show that, the weight of the rear axle which have optimal designed isdecreased about10.49kg to the former rear axle. And the results of theoretical checking andpractical test show that, the various performances of lightening rear axle can meet therequirements of national standard judgement index, which become an alternative to formerrear axle. |
