At present,there are many research about body roll in the automobile design field,especially in the passenger car design field.But the related research and engineering development method to guide the practical are less in commercial vehicles,especially in the midget van truck field.The midget truck ownership are huge in China’s commercial vehicle market now,and it’s application field is very extensive.At the same time,because of its actual use condition is very complicated,the interference caused by body roll is necessary to further study.This paper has analyzed the present situation traditional theory research about vehicle roll and related parameter design,system elaborated the basic principle of the vehicle roll,and have carried on the preliminary study to the existing design method.the actual parameters of one midget van truck which existing interference problem between the frame and the wheels were analyzed.The truck 3D model is built according to the actual parameters.The vehicle roll performance was simulated and analyzed by applying the computer simulation software.The interference risk was inferred.A effective solution by optimizing structure parameters was presented with computer simulation,and the solutions has been proved through computer simulation and actual test.The interference problem between the frame and the wheels of the midget van truck was solved.At last,verified and compared the results of existing design method which used by enterprise,summarized advantages and disadvantages of the existing methods,presented simple and practical method to get related parameters value.The results of the study summarized the practical method for subsequent design,The method can guide the high quality and high efficiency related parameters design of vehicle roll.
