With the rapid development of industry in our country, electric power as one of the most important source of energy in national production and the daily life, the operation of the reliability requirements also get a higher level. Especially in recent years, the proposed Great Power Grid construction put forward a higher request of the stable operation of the power system. The stable operation of the power system has been the most popular research issue in power system field. For decades, all kinds of new algorithm emerge in endlessly, the power system for the next generation has made a solid theoretical foundation.This paper, based on the theory, try to use than ordinary industrial PC faster, more powerful control TMS320F2812DSP chip to implement a multi-index nonlinear excitation adjuster. The chip is a fixed-point DSP chip on TI company C2000platform. It’s a special chip in the control areas, very suitable for a core chip of a generator digital excitation controller.The first part of this paper mainly introduces the excitation system of basic component and the source of the topic development, the present situation and this topic research significance.The second part mainly introduces the mainstream theory of excitation control such as traditional PID and linear optimal theory, as well as this design of the use of multi-index nonlinear feedback excitation control theory, by choosing proper output function, using Matlab’s Simulink module build one machine-infinite bus system model, given the three-phase short-circuit and power adjustment disturbance of the simulation results.Then introduce the chosen chip and development platform.And developed the software and hardware system and associated peripheral function modules. Using DSP’s powerful sampling module which could handle the data at128points Fourier algorithm to complete AC sampling. The phase shifting trigger module using two EVs on the F2812, through the six PWM pins output six phases digital shifting trigger pulse and in subsequent add a intermediate frequency modulation circuit, make the magnification of the pulse into a medium frequency sequences to improve reliability of the conduction and reduce the power consumption. In addition, consider the limitations and protection.This kind of digital excitation adjuster based on DSP, it’s sampling and phase shifting impulse through software to realize, to make the hardware structure simple and reduce the cost, at the same time also ensure the controller’s real-time and reliability. Finally, there is a low-power Excitation experiment under laboratory conditions, and related results show that the excitation controller has excellent control effect.
