Because the spectral data detected by all sorts of detector at one time is isolated,and a single data does not reflect the essential nature of the measured substance.Itneeds a great deal comprehensive data analysis. Besides the collected data alsorequires to use different methods to make qualitative and quantitative analysis to getthe scientific judgment.undoubtedly the workload of the element analysis is veryhuge. In today’s widespread application of the computer age, instead of the artificial,using the computer to complete a large amount of data processing is the most sensiblechoice. Under this circumstance, the nuclear data processing software developmentemerge as the times require. At the same time in the field of electronic technology,new achievement increasingly produces, method technology and equipment areconstantly updated, and the functional requirements of the software used to supportthe measurement and analysis of the gamma spectrometer are also gradually improve.In order to adapt to the gamma-ray spectrometer for fast processing speed、convenientoperation、complete function demand, this paper is in the purpose of researching anddeveloping the low-background gamma-ray energy spectrum analysis software. Thissoftware is mainly applied to ceramics、cement、timber、other building materials、minerals and the indoor environment measurement and analysis, whose radioactivityconcentration and activity are comparatively weak. It also has the characteristics ofthe low background、simple operation and well function. From the function of thesoftware required by the gamma-ray spectrometer measurement, the software hasbeen divided into five parts: file manipulation、spectrum analysis、energy scale、content analysis and activity analysis. In the aspect of spectral lines smooth, I havedesigned four methods to do the smooth operation of the spectral data, they arearithmetic moving average method、gravity method、least squares polynomial fitting method、Fourier-transform method. People can choose one of the methods accordingto the actual shape of spectral lines, which can increase the accuracy of the dataanalysis. Based on the functional testing of the software, it has achieved theanticipated target. In addition in recent years, the new lanthanum bromide (LaBr3:Ce)scintillation detector used in the gamma energy measurement has aroused the people’sinterest and attention, relative to the sodium iodide detector whose energy resolutionis only about seven percent to ten percent, at present large sized lanthanum bromidewhich may replace the traditional sodium iodide detector on many occasions can beproduced and can also provide sufficient detection efficiency and excellent energyresolution (approximately three percent).the achievements and innovation in the study are as follows:1) Preliminary completed the research and development of the low backgroundgamma ray spectrum analysis software and conducted experiments to test andapplication.2) Using a variety ways of spectral lines smooth, the software is convenient for usersto choose according to their needs. supporting nuclide identification function, thesoftware is convenient for the users to identify the types of radiation sourceaccurately.3) In recent years, the new lanthanum bromide detector with excellent energyresolution may replace the traditional sodium iodide detector. The bottom line andthe probe radioactivity of the BrilLanCeTM380lanthanum bromide detector havebeen tested and analyzed.4) The BrilLanCeTM380lanthanum bromide detector is used to measure the137Cssource、60Co source and the137Cs+60Co source separately in the environment andthe lead chamber, the data analysis of which are used to test its performance.5) In normal circumstances, comparative analysis of the LaBr3(Ce) and NaI(TI)environment background spectrum has been made, comparative analysis of thedata results of the LaBr3(Ce) and NaI(TI) used to measure the137Cs source、60Cosource and the137Cs+60Co source separately has also been made. which can makefurther validation of the BrilLanCeTM380lanthanum bromide detector withexcellent performance.
