Vehicle, which act as one of the most important role in modern society, bring us not only great facilitations in daily life, but also serious threats because of so many accidents in the world. Especially, when the bus accidents cause, it will lead to bad influences. In few years, the accidents of bus rolling increase. when it happened, it will cause the number of injury increases. At abroad, Scholars paid more important on buses’passive safety and formulate the relative laws and regulations (ECE66and so on), for example, analyzing structure strength of the upper bus body. While most of domestic passenger car manufacturers applied CAE technology to study the passenger vehicles, which focus on passenger buses strength and stiffness analysis, modal analysis and so on, and has not fully carried out the security research of passenger car crash and rolling. How to improve the safety of bus-collision and reduce the casualty has become the urgent task of automobile manufactures.This paper researched the structure of bus when it rolls. A t first, according to the basic theory of finite element and vehicle structural crash worthiness features, a geometric model and finite element model are established. According to regulation ECE66’s requirements, the bus rolling crash process was simulated on computer. Analyzing the simulation results, the frame of the bus has invaded to the passengers’ occupant space. The paper introduced some methods to improve the bus frame, according to the outcome of the computer simulation, the bus frame had enhanced, it even fulfilled the regulation ECE66.All above, use the CAE technology in the bus research and development and according to regulation ECE66’s requirements and evaluation standards, forecast the weak point and improve and optimize the product. This is a very efficiency and economy method. Computer simulation of roller could be used as an effective measure of in-depth study of the coach collision. The result of the study builds a certain foundation to further study of the roller crash security and offers references to further study.
