This thesis is the third paper of the urban complex study series directed by professor Wang Heng. After the study of traffic and function, it researches on the combination mode of high-rise urban complex form. The construction of the urban complex in the United States, Europe and Hong Kong has been very mature. With the development of domestic economics and acceleration of urban construction, the prevailing urban complex has received more and more attention. Urban complex can use urban land efficiently, save energy and urban public facilities and improve the urban environment, which is the production of the change of urban development. The form of high-rise urban complex and its interaction with urban form is not only the important point in the architectural practice but also one of the factors which influence the multifaceted value of the urban complex.Based on the data collection, field research and case studies, this thesis demonstrates a multi-angle analysis of the form of high-rise urban complex. The main contents include eight chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the research background, significance and other premise of content. The second chapter explains the concept and history of urban complex, and introduces related morphology and urban design theory, in order to clarify the basic direction and content of the research. Base on the study, certain high-rise urban complex were chosen as the main research cases. The third chapter analyzes the composition of the basic elements of the high-rise urban complex. Chapter IV and V mainly study the internal relationship within high-rise urban complex form. These parts discuss the classification, combination mode, composition of its morphology, and analyze the connection within urban complex. Chapter VI discusses the relationship between the high-rise urban complex and the urban form and illustrates the mutual influence of each other. Chapter VII is on the basis of the previous six chapters and analyzes the form design of high-rise urban complex cases involved in the design practice. Chapter VIII is the summary of the thesis and proposes the problems we need to further address.
