Recently, with the development of social, high-rise buildings are endless. The event of fire, as altitude increases, the wind gradually increased, more and more obvious chimney effect within the shaft, fire spread fast. As a result, it will cause a large number of casualties in a short time. Therefore, high-rise building fire prevention is necessary. There are two main factors, one is the impact of the external wind and another is chimney effect. This article respectively analysis the law to smoke spread from the horizontal and vertical.Although natural draft can be considerably reduced investment, the law to smoke spread is different in different wind direction, wind speed and altitude conditions under the influence of wind speed in the outside world and chimney effect. Determining the most unfavorable position and direction and avoiding the most unfavorable conditions can provide appropriate guidance to the design of Smoke Control. The law of horizontal spread of flue gas is consider the different location and wind direction’s effect to smoke spread because the same level of study area and constant wind speed of the outside world. When the fire broke out in different fire source location, the fire risk is not the same because the different location of the stairwell. Building openings will lead to the same external wind that can produce both positive and negative pressure to the windows. Positive pressure suppression exhaust, but to some extent it also promote the flow of flue gas. While negative pressure promotes smoke. This paper mainly studies the combination of different wind direction and fire location on the natural draft effect so that we can make sure the most adverse fire for people to escape. The law of vertical spread of flue gas is when the study area is not in the same horizontal plane, the size of the external wind speed gradually increases as altitude increases and as a result the natural exhaust port in the stairwell of the pressure is also increasing when the altitude increases. Ruling out the smoke without wind relies mainly on the pressing effect of the building itself. While ruling out the smoke with the wind is completed under the wind pressure and hot pressing. Different size of the opening, the opening position and the combinations will result in different pressure effects which eventually lead to the difference between the smoke effects. This paper focuses on the effect of a different opening condition to the exhaust system. As a result, we can make sure that the smoke is the most powerful opening under the wind conditions.Last, we can simulate different operating conditions through establish the horizontal and vertical direction of FDS fire simulation model. Consequently, we can draw the law and optimization of fire spread.
