The energy shortage, deterioration of the environment has become increasingly serious global problems, looking for green energy is a pressing issue faced by current humans. Solar energy is clean, without pollution, and inexhaustible, so people put more and more attention to this. Photovoltaic generation becomes one of the main ways of using solar energy. So more comprehensive and in-depth study of photovoltaic generation system and its related technology has important significance to improve the efficiency of photovoltaic generation and promote the development of photovoltaic generation industry.As an important part of a photovoltaic generation system, solar has the problem of lower photoelectric conversion efficiency, lower utilization rate and the high cost. Aiming at this problem, this article has a description of solar battery from four angle: its preparing process, solar panels with full automatic tracking for light, solar battery and maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control method, and has a detailed description and evaluation of the most classical and most widely used three kinds of control methods of maximum power point tracking:constant voltage method, perturbation observation method and incremental conductance method, and has a analysis of their advantages and shortcomings of these methods, and has a specific analysis of an improved perturbation observation method. Then has a simulation study of main module in grid-connected photovoltaic system:photovoltaic array module, MPPT control module, DC/DC transform circuit module, and DC/AC transform circuit module through the Matlab/simulink system simulation software, and has a simulation output of the characteristic curve of solar battery, and has a simulation output of the classical perturbation observation method and the improved perturbation and observation method using the built grid-connected photovoltaic system, by comparing the output, proved the feasibility and effectivation of this method. Finally pointed out the work I have to do of the photovoltaic generation system and its related technology, as well as the control method of maximum power point tracking in the future.
