| Urban color play an important role in city, because it is not only a city’s firstimpression of people, but also a city building aesthetic manifestation.Urban color asan important part of urban charm which can reflect the city’s historical type and thecity grade, meanwhile, it’s significant to shape cityscape, continue the historycontext.This paper investigates the causes for urban color and existing problems that inold urban district of Beijing. Then we sort30historical culture protection zone toimperial city region, Tanmiao region, business region, populated region, whichaccording to the different function type, and summarize common ch aracteristics ofsame category through the investigation research.
