In order to solve the problem of high voltage and suplus reactive power, optimization ofinductive reactive power compensators planning in power system, which is to determine theinstallation location and capacity of inductive reactive power compensation. It is basedon.power grid planning, can ensure the safe and economic operating of power system,andavoid blind construction of reactive power compensation. It is a complex, multi-variable,multi-constraints, mixed comprehensive and non-linear problem. Because the novelty of thephenomenon of suplus reactive, no matter in fact or in theory, the problem is different fromtraditional optimization of reactive power planning. In order to solve the problem of locationof compensators and optimization of capacity in optimization of inductive power planning, itis refered that improved model based on traditional optimization of reactive power planning.in this paper. Considering characteristics of low-load operation, planning needs of substationand efficiency of solving optimization problem, the new model refered in this paper is provedto be a better solution to handle optimization of inductive power planning in area. The mainresearch in this paper is as follows.(1)The method adopts to optimization of inductive power planning in power system isproposed. Based on characteristic of high voltage and suplus reactive power, the methodimproves applicability of load equivalent time, constraints of switching reactive compensationdevices and constraints of voltage range. It is different from traditional optimization ofreactive power planning. Investment economy and energy-saving is considered bystrengthening contraints to improve efficiency of optimization and avoid conflict of results.(2)Catastrophic genetic algorithms is used to optimize inductive power planning inpower system. In order to ensure global performance and convergence speed, the crossoverrelated to the generation number and the mutation related to the fitness are set. Thecatastrophic operator is presented to improve algorithm based on conventional algorithmoperator. It can avoid falling into local optimization and make the optimization results betterstability and convergence speed.(3)The hierarchical and partitioned optimization method which based on multi-agentsystem is adopted. According to natural partition principle, the big scale power grid isdecomposed to several smaller scale sub-grid. By distributed collaborative optimizationmethod, the iteration results of every sub-grid optimization achive optimization of the wholepower grid at last. The simulation example prove tha the methoe refered in this paper iseffective and reasonable. The caculation result of Meizhou main grid shows that method of optimization ofinductive power planning is better than other method in rationality, effectiveness, practicality,and feasibility. The research has important theoretical and practical value, and it starts a newway for scientific method of optimization of inductive power planning in power system.
