With the rapid economic growth, the consumption of China’s oil and gasresources grow too fast,"oil shortage" happens frequently, oil and gas prices soars,influencing the operation cost between social industries, exacerbating domesticinflation. China’s ocean has rich oil and gas resources, especially the south China sea,so far,5.22billion tons of oil reserves has been found.During the "12.5" period, chinaspeeds up the configuration of the offshore oil industry towards the depth of the ocean,and achieves the Marine oil production from the current50million tons of increasedto100million tons, making up25%of the total yield in the main development goals.Itis predicted that during the "12.5" period, more than70oil and gas platform is to bebuilded,and with the demand of marine structures continuing to increase, the role ofthe offshore platform supply ship will become more and more important. As “the childboat” of the offshore oil drilling platform, the offshore platform supply ship fulfillsthe supporting function of supply, drag, help,fire protection and etc.,becoming anindispensable part of the ocean oil and gas development system.However, conventional offshore platform supply vessel subject to its own speed,quick delivery and rescue personnel, emergency supplies in the supply can not meetthe rapid development of oil and gas field trending to the deeper sea. Apparently,according to the new situation, the fast supply vessel needs to focus on platformpersonnel and emergency supplies for the rapid transport. In addition to providing fastand comfortable transportation functions, it should have the ability to supply andsalvage operations. Therefore, this paper unifies the domestic marine compositematerials, marine technology platform supply vessels behind the status quo anddevelopment trend of international market, puts forward a new topic of developing acomposite energy-saving, environment protection, fast platform supply vessel.In this paper, we review the development of domestic and international status ofmarine supply vessels, described the application status of marine composite material,analyze the application future and practical significance of energy-saving, high-speed,mixed composite marine supply vessel. Then, we make an overview of high performance composite materials properties of basalt fiber and discuss theapplication prospects of the basalt fiber in vessels. The RTM used in building highperformance vessel is elaborated and the good property of the basalt fiber reinforcecomposite lamina is verified by using material mechanical tests. Furthermore, thedevelopment of mixed material is introduced and the fitness of fiber-metal mixedcomposite lamina used FEM is elaborated. According to lots of calculation andanalysis, we get some optimized solutions of the different reinforcement and lay-updesign. Finally, from the perspective of solving the problems among material,high-speed, navigating area and cost, design and demonstrate the proposal of total hullform for marine supply vessel by analyzing the information of basalt fiber reinforcecomposite and the mixed composite material. This paper adopts the AXE Bow conceptto improve the longitudinal flow and damping the slamming in the vicinity of the bow;calculates the principal dimensions and coefficients, metacentric height, technical andeconomic index; in the mean time, establishes a technical and economic evaluationmodel to optimize the supply vessel ’s principal dimensions; then, generates the hulllines and preliminary discusses the general arrangement of the fast supply vessel, toachieve the best rapidity and seakeeping performance, thereby determines the generalscheme of the fast platform supply vessel.
