The exploration and exploitation of marine resources are expanding to deep water areas and the traditional anchoring methods have been unable to meet the requirements of safe operations at sea.Marine engineering vessels with dynamic positioning(Dynamic positioning,DP)technology are becoming more and more widely used.The Dynamic Positioning Simulator is the primary device for training professional DP operators.As an important part of the dynamic positioning simulator,3D Visual Simulation provides visual effects for DP operator training by simulating various ocean scenes.In this thesis,the 3D visual simulation in the dynamic positioning simulator is deeply studied and the 3D modeling and rendering simulation is discussed.The development design and effect display of the 3D visual simulation are completed,which makes a positive exploration for the development of dynamic positioning simulator.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Elaborated the research status of dynamic positioning simulator and simulator 3D visual simulation at home and abroad.According to the characteristics of visual simulation,the demand analysis and design of the 3D visual simulation for the offshore operation of platform supply vessel are carried out.Completed the selection of 3D modeling,simulation rendering and development environment solutions,designed the framework and flow of the 3D visual simulation in this thesis.(2)This thesis integrated use of 3D modeling tools 3ds MAX and Multigen Creator to create solid models of platform supply vessel and offshore platforms,and used simulation platform Vega Prime to create ocean scenes,thereby completed the construction of the 3D solids and scene database required for the simulation.(3)Studied the visual simulation of the ocean based on the Marine Ocean module and particle system.Simulated the weather conditions such as sun,rain,snow,cloud,fog and the ship track effects such as bow wave,side wave,bow wave.Studied the technology of observer's viewpoint setting and collision detection simultaneously between objects in ocean scene.(4)Based on the work of(2)and(3),designed the simulation development process,built the overall framework of simulation development and established the visual simulation platform based on Visual Studio and Vega Prime.Completed the Vega Prime console program and Vega Prime's MFC framework program under Visual Studio.Analyzed the typical scenes of offshoreoperation of platform supply vessel and realized the development design and effect display of 3D visual simulation of offshore operation of platform supply vessel.Finally,summarized the work content of the full text and put forward the research ideas and related prospects for further work.
