With the development of electronic technology, as well as the improvement of the performance of automotive air conditioning controllers, electronic systems for automotive air-condition is more and more complex, the number of electronic components for system used more and more huge, and the function to realize also need more and more.To ensure the reliability of the electronic system functions which need the electronic assembly multi-process, each production enterprise must invest a lot of manpower and material resources to carry out the functions of the product testing. The ways of traditional testing system mainly are manual and semi-auto, but the maintainability and scalability of the system are poor, with low efficiency. The standards for test technology and processes are uniform, with disorder test data.On one hand, it is difficult to guarantee the reliability of the quality, which brings a lot of unnecessary trouble for the user the product and after-sales work. On the other hand, it virtually increased enterprise production costs, especially labor costs. In the condition of the fierce competition in enterprise market and the rising production costs, as well as the increasing pressure of cases, it needs to develop a clear set of processes for test. Reports of the regulation of the automotive air conditioning controller automatic test system is not only beneficial to improve production efficiency, also reduces the professional knowledge of the test, as the same time,it also improve product quality to bring some economic benefits for enterprises.Firstly, the article elaborates the concept and development of automatic test system, the background and purpose, as well as the significance of subject topics. Then, it described in detail the structure of the automotive air conditioning systems and automotive air-conditioning controller, and in the light of this car air controller for the structure and the requirement of automatic test system, lists the entire content the automatic test system to be tested. Given the plan for automatic test system, and introduces different test program of models of the car air controller in detail. After determining the scheme of automotive air conditioning system and different models of the controller test project, it designed peripheral circuit of automotive air conditioning controller connectors for operating the car running environment.Finally, this paper describes the design of automatic test system hardware and software. The hardware of automatic test system is designed by Microchip Technology Company (Microchip Technology Inc.), it launched a blessing to the high performance16-bit microcomputer as the core, and embedded DSP engine digital signal controller dsPIC30F4013, combined with the peripheral communication circuit module and analog signal input channel, as well as PWM signal output channels and digital output channel, by receiving PC software instructions to realize the load simulation signal controller, sample output voltage and static current, and so on.Automatic test system for the software design included host computer software and microcontroller program. The host computer software used Visual Basic6.0for development. After the successful handshake between the automotive air conditioning controller and the host computer, automotive air-conditioning controller entered the test mode, automatic test system also starts to prepare a good test procedures in accordance with the prior to test process. The testing process is prepared by the host computer software. Host computer through the communications with automated test systems and automotive air-conditioning controller obtained useful test data to obtain the useful results, and store test data into the database. Exporting database data to the EXCELL table provided for the repair of substandard product maintenance and a reference for product design improvements when it’s necessary.Test system after the debugging of the hardware and software, and the practical application of the production enterprises, it basically meet the requirements of the tests.
