In recent years, with China’s rapid development of automobile industry and people for comfort, safety and performance requirements continue to improve, as an important vehicle safety components of automobile steering gear production level has been greatly improved. The hydraulic power steering gear in a variety of power steering gear to occupy the leading position, and as the hydraulic power steering gear of rotary valve of hydraulic power steering gear is more widely used. Now many models used by the power steering device for rotary valve of hydraulic power steering gear, circulating ball valve type power steering apparatus due to its simple and compact structure, small axial size, and the number of parts, sensitive performance advantages, has become the development trend of power steering gear. It has the following advantages:1) has a fixed self lubrication.2) high pressure, large output torque.3) liquid incompressibility allows precise control of movement.4) it is a closed system, can prevent foreign intrusion.The diverter structure is mainly composed of a mechanical part and a hydraulic part. The mechanical part of recirculating ball steering gear with mechanical basic, composed of a casing, recirculating ball screw nut part, rack fan section, a side cover and a regulating bolt. The hydraulic part is composed of a control valve, cylinder, and a piston and other parts.The diverter is in part the soul of a car. The driver through the diverter contact with the vehicle, can feel the road conditions and vehicle response. This steering quality according to the hand of the light touch and comfort, while the other hand as much as possible from the feedback to determine road feel. This requires high precision mechanical parts and a fine control of the hydraulic system balance, we improve our various steering system. These are the factory cars of choice, because they are compact and reliable; it is the driver who preferred, because they provide comfort and precision.In this paper a new car model of circulating ball recirculating ball power steering gear rack gear sector, is a rotary valve structure consisting mainly of power steering gear structure, working principle, and vehicle matching selection, performance design requirements (focusing on the rotary valve to effect of main parts), parameter selection and calculation; its strength and stress check. The main research work includes:1. Research of auto recirculating ball power steering gear structure design For automotive power steering gear transmission characteristics and working load, is the main research steering system steering and hydraulic power device matching, as well as the steering system consists of steering, working principle and main components of connection, steering hydraulic oil in the hydraulic force of the process analysis and hydraulic power-assisted handle force characteristic curve.According to the general requirements of steering system steering itself required to reach the requirement analysis, the diverter internal structure layout and rotary valve structure design for a more in-depth analysis.2. The research of auto recirculating ball power steering gear structure design method.According to the vehicle load and shape parameters of simplified calculation, the design of the steering device belongs to the range of grades. And the pump flow is calculated to ensure the basic selection right. In determining the diverter respective series, mainly from the steering gear transmission pair of magnitude two, according to relevant design reference parameters calculation to determine the specific parameter value. The main parts for strength checking and stress analysis, and focus on teeth meshing movement check fan.3. The research of auto recirculating ball power steering gear performance testThe steering gear was hand characteristics test experiment, the model of power steering gear design theory curve and the actual test result difference and correction.
