Study On The Preservation And Renewal Of The Plant Landscape In Tanhualin Historic District In Wuhan

As one of the important historical resources to reflect the urban special features, preservation of historical district is get attention to by more and more people. The reasonable protection and appropriate renewal of the environment around historical district can promote its adaptation of the city rapid development. As a sufficient and indispensable factor, Plant landscape is always neglected during the actual study. Currently, the systematic study from multi-perspectives of ornamental plant landscape in historic district is far away from sufficient. Therefore, the comprehensive study of conservation and renewal of the plant landscape in Tanhualin historic district, Wuhan in this essay is aimed to change the status quo. The principal results are as follows:First, I outline the historical progress of Tanhualin historic district and analyze some Chinese and western classic gardens in order to find out the connection between plant landscape and humanistic intension in studying area and pay attention to artistic conception of plants arrangement.Second, The relationship between plant and three main district controlling elements: hill, architecture and street space in Tanhualin historical district is clarified based on the certain place features in Tanhualin and theories of plant landscape construction. Problems and faults of plant landscape construction can be summarized from the analysis.Third, those main pattern characteristics of different green space are obtained through classifying and calculating the pattern index of green space in the studying area based on those related landscape ecology theories. Those pattern characteristics will be used as theoretical guidelines for conservation and renewal of plant landscape.Finally, principles and implementation strategy of plant landscape conservation and renewal in Tanhualin historical district are obtained, which are applied to plant landscape design for specific areas needing preservation and renewal in order to improve the designing plan of plant landscape.
