Research On Large-scale Commercial Complex Open Space Design

With the trends of intensification construction of the urban environment and the active progress of commodity economy, large-scale commercial complex is becoming the main stream of commercial modle. The open space in a large-scale commercial complex independents from the pure commercial and function area, exist as a conection part between the building and the city, it can provide citizens and customers a place where social contact and communication can happen. Open space of large-scale commercial complex is the key point for the efficient function of the commercial complex and the buildings to merge with the urban substantial elements.Through the angle of architecture design, this paper starts from analysis of related concepts and theories, discusses the definite concept and history of open space in large-scale commercial complex, concludes its features and forms, analyses how the function, substantial elements of the building and the city can influence the open space, and then based on the analysis, discusses the principles of large-scale commercial complex open space design, which is divided into three part:open space design from the view of function, open space design from the view of substantial elements of the building and open space design from the view of city, stress the point that open space of large-scale commercial complex must be designed based on Serviceability, Uniqueness and Global view, only by that can we have a useful and meaningful open space that can enhance the value of the commercial complex, not only in the aspect of business, but also in the aspect of urban context.
