With the rapid development of economy, the consumption and demand of energy has increased significantly, resource shortages and environment issues have become increasingly severe, and the serious shortage of resources has become an important constraint for China’s economic and social development. Therefore, it has become the urgent problem how to reduce energy consumption and the impact on the environment.The energy consumption of the industrial sector accounts for one third of global energy consumption, and process industry is an important part of the industrial sector. From the point of system engineering, process industries can be generally divided into production process, steam power system and heat exchanger network. The Integrated optimization of steam power system and production process will reduce energy consumption in the industrial production process, improve the energy efficiency of steam power systems, and reduce the pollutant emissions during operation of the steam power and the impact on the environment, so that it has great significance for the shortage of resources and environmental issues to optimize the steam power system and process. At the same time, it is an important mean for enterprises to improve their market competitiveness.On the basis of the research about steam power system optimization at home and aboard, the integrated optimization model of steam power system and production process is established using iterative optimization approach, and the impact on the environment caused by emissions has been included in the model. The main researches include:Firstly, the steam power system operation optimization model is established based on the mathematical programming methods. In this mixed-integer model, the efficiency of device with the load change is taken into account, making the model closer to the actual operation conditions.Secondly, the integrated optimization model of the steam power system and the production process is established. Steam power system provides the production process steam, electricity and other energy, and the relationship between them is very close, so the production process should be optimized together with the steam power system. In order to solve the integrated model, an iterative model optimization approach based on genetic algorithm is proposed. The model is divided into two parts and solved between the two sub-models, so that better optimal solution can be obtained.Thirdly, the impact on the environment caused by the emission of steam power system is taken into account. The impact and the operation cost are optimized simultaneously in the model, so that the impact on the environment could be induced while the operation cost is minimized.Finally, this paper studies a literature example. An integrated optimization model is established to verify the validity of the proposed optimization method.The article ends with a summary of the full text, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of the research work, and provides a reference for the future research.
