The hydraulic drive has become an important component in the drive and automatic control systems, widely used in industry, agriculture, defense, military and other fields. Hydraulic technology development are inextricably linked to the progress of the sealing technology, sealing technology development plays an important role in promoting the development of hydraulic technology.Firstly, this paper introduces the current status of domestic and foreign hydraulic seals research, points out the meanings and advantages of researching the property of the O-rings seal with the finite element method. Then, determine that the finite element analysis for the O-rings seal is the non-linear contact analysis for the hyper elastomer, further determine the contact type、the contact elements and the model of the rubber material parameters. And derive the formula for solving the finite element formulation. Finally, by using ANSYS software, create finite element model、apply loads、solve results, we obtain the O-rings deformation and pressure under different compression rates and different oil pressure. Compared the obtained different data, draw analysis conclusions.The successful analyzing the O-ring reflects that researching the property of the hydraulic seal with the finite element method has the advantage of accuracy、reliability and quickness. This research method and analytical method can also be used for the analysis of other types of sealing elements.
