China is a country with more developed karst. There are more and more construction projects in karst region with rapid development of economic constructions. It brings lots of karst projects geological problems, such as the stability of karst foundation, karst leakage, and karst eave, which abstracts attentions from society. Therefore, it is very important to do the comprehensive research of engineered geological conditions in karst area and use correct method to deal with karst handling. At present, domestic&foreign experts make many researches on karst growth conditions, cause of formation, mechanisms, types, impact factors, karst topography, and karst cave in, and they make many achievements. But the research on engineered karst is still not enough. In recent years, projects scale and basic constructive areas are getting bigger and bigger. Constructions expansion of water conservancy, hydropower and heat-engine plant, are especially important for doing deep research on karst problems, projects safety, design optimization and reasonable deduce handling prime cost. A millions of thermal firepower electricity plant project in Lai Wu is located in an area with rudimentary karst. The size and space distribution has the certain regularity. The karst caves in karst area have big influence of bearing capacity and stability to upper structure. For example, karst cave is in the bottom of a basis, it may cause the damage for upper structure. The karst cave ceiling is not thick enough, so it breaks the ceiling with upper load function, and loses loading capability. This thesis is based on karst geology in Lai Wu plant location. It compares with a few geophysical prospecting methods which are used in karst areas. With practical conditions, this thesis uses high density resistivity method and geological radar method to check the karst detail in plant location, such as scope of broken rock band growth conditions, depth and growth law. This thesis also gives a detailed introduction on how high density resistivity method and geological radar method work, technical principle and specific usage. To obtain the result of superficial karst growth conditions by drilling in karst first, and then analyze that superficial karst brings the influence for foundation soil on stability and loading capability in theory. This thesis is directed against karst growth conditions in electricity plant. And it gives some processing method suggestions, in order to provide theory evidence for stage design and construction.
