This paper combining CAE emulation with experiment redesigned and optimized thestructure of SUV vehicle safety, which improved the collision safety performance of the SUVvehicle all-around. Aiming at the white-body, steering column, air-bag and the structure ofseat and safety belt produced by some company, the reasonable method and modified measureare put forward. The mainly research had been done from the following aspects:(1) On the problem of bodywork safety, the assistant energy-absorbing beam hasbeen added under the clapboard lying on the front of cab, which not only reduces the collisionenergy, but also increases the rate of passenger survival. The structure of bodywork and framehookup has been modified. Assembly technique of left-side car door has been optimized.(2) By disposing the steering column and analyzing the situation of structure forced,we change run casing into corrugated tube, and add the limiting bracket of steering driveaxle, which improves the energy-absorbing ability of the steering column.(3) By the way of adding the reinforcing rib to the fixing bracket of the seat andsafety belt, which has been validated by the the finite element analysis, safety performance ofthe seat has been improved. Adding the passenger safety warning function and the rear childseat holding system improve the protection to the children.(4) By changing the size of the air-bag and exhausting pipe, changing the air-baginto the double strap, the harm to the passenger from the detonation of the air-bag has beenreduced.Generally speaking, this paper has improved the collision safety performance of SUVand reaches the target of the collision safety five-star by combining theory ethical analysiswith experiment.
