Medium frequency induction furnace is an important equipment in the field of thermalengineering. Due to its many advantages such as high product quality and productionefficiency, strong overload, heating speed and small metal burning, Medium frequencyinduction furnace was quickly and widely used in many places.As the manufacturing improvements and the accumulation of experience exchange,medium frequency induction furnace makes further use and study in many points includingsmelting of alloy and various metal, diathermic, heat treatment.In order to effectively improve the power factor and electric efficiency and reduce thedesign cost and energy consumption, speeding up development plays an important part in theefficiency and performance improvement. In the paper, the power, electric efficiency, powerfactor and other operating parameters are analyzed and energy efficiency were studied, basedon which a simulation platform for the optimization decision support system was designedand will provides a strong theoretical guidance for its application through the simulationanalysis.Therefore based on Visual Basic software, an optimized decision support system for theintermediate frequency induction furnace operation was designed with the combination ofartificial intelligent technology and decision support system technology, some mainachievements and innovations are expressed as follows:(1) The law of the energy impact of operation parameters such as power, heat efficiency,power factor and the crucible of life on the operating process of the intermediate frequencyinduction furnace was obtained. The parallel inverter circuit was improved whose startcapacity was enhanced. The output with full power can be achieved and the energy-savingeffect was remarkable.(2)An optimization model of electricity and heat efficiency about intermediate frequencycoreless induction furnace in the nonmagnetic process was built with some constraintsparameters such as power supply frequency and blank diameter. With the optimization ofparticle algorithm, it shows that the power factor increases from0.157to0.401and heatefficiency from54.8%to77.3%.(3)An optimized decision support system for the intermediate frequency inductionfurnace operation is designed with the combination of visual basic software and artificialintelligent technology which aims to help the user for design induction furnace. According tothe simulation working process after user inputed parameters of the furnace, thecorresponding technical indicators could be calculated and analyzed. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the medium frequency induction furnace operation optimization decisionsupport system.
