Soil erosion has been listed as primary ecological problems in our country, and conservation of soil against erosion is the basic state policy. With the development of economy, national highway construction has developed rapidly, a lot of expressway are or will fill in a mountainous area. The amount of excavation and fill is large, with many bridges and tunnels,which is prominent artificial accelerated erosion. This paper has analyzed deeply mechanism and influencing factors of soil erosion in mountainous highway, probed its forecasting method, and introduced its control technology. Main research achievements are as follows:(1)The mechanism of highway soil erosion is described from regression relationship of loss amount and climate, soil, terrain, geology and vegetation.The form and stage of soil erosion in highway construction arc clarified Based on investigation, situation of highway soil erosion in Hunan province is analyzed from social and natural factors.(2)The common forecasting models and methods of soil erosion in mountainous highway are introduced. Representative unsheltered accumulation slopes and opencast slopes in mountainous areas of Hunan are selected as measurement sites to calculate its erosion modulus based on main parent rock category and rainfall clusters.105quarries and20earth-gathering fields are investigated specially, and average soil erosion modulus is get from different earth fetching method.Soil erosion of highway from Changde to Zhangjiajie, Changde to Jishou is predicted with analogy method.(3)The common conservation techniques of soil in mountainous highway construction are introduced. Prevention measurements of soil erosion are described from different areas such as main project area, earth-gathering field, the temporary project area. A soil conservation technique worth extending is introduced—Reno mattresses linings, and its structure feature, properties, design method, technical index and construction process are analyzed thoroughly.(4)A project case of mountainous highway from Changsha to Jishou is analyzed, through which the amount of soil erosion is predicted, and is compared with measured. The feasibility and availability of Reno mattresses linings is tested.
