Transmission is one of the most important part of vehicle power train, It is main used to change the speed and torque of the car. Make cars running in the opposite direction、Realize neutral glide, etc. because of its simple manufacturing process, low Manufacturing costs and reliable Working performance, Manual mechanical transmission had been widely used In all kinds of cars. The parameters of the transmission had a directly influence of dynamic performance and fuel economy to a car. A good engine can’t give full play due performance if matched with a poor transmission.So, it is very important to select the parameters of the gearbox reasonably.The speed and torque of the car is directly related to the transmission ratio, so the selection of the ratio parameters has a great influence for the dynamic performance and fuel economy to a car. This paper optimized the transmission ratio use Matlab software with the car accelerated time and fuel consumption as the objective function, the optimized ratio in the conditions of automotive dynamic achieved better fuel economy. Designed the key parts of the transmission According to the optimized ratio and analysised the force of the transmission gear.Established the dynamic model of transmission gear engagement and analysised the engagement force. Established transmission shaft and gear3d CAD model based on the design, and import physical model to ANSYS, dimensional analysis input、 output and intermediate shaft by finite element, include vibration modal analysis、 stiffness analysis and strength analysis. Analysised the force of gear engagement, Introduced the definition of the worst load line, calculated the gear strength in ANSYS. Results show that the design of the structure is reasonable and the Stiffness, strength, meet the requirements. Established dynamics simulation model of constant mesh gear and analyzed gear meshing force, satisfactory results are obtained.
