Base on parameter optimization design of MATLAB soft, re-design gear system for automobile seat adjuster of Motor Company. Then comparison stress and deformation for those two design by ANSYS soft and simulation lift test in lab, it verify this gear system reliability.At fist, it present optimization design theory in detail, introduce basic concept of optimization design and optimization design process. According to design theory with existing problem and customer complain to re-design gear system to meet design requirement. In mean time, it introduce KISSSOFT soft of gear parameter design soft, it can out put precision gear profile, it take advantage of stress analysis for ANSYS soft. Then use precision gear profile input 3D design soft, At SOLIDWORKS, it can be built 3D for gear train. At this time, there is a precision 3D of gear system. Because there is a data connector with ANSYS soft, the gear mold can be input ANSYS to analyze directly.For existing problem and customer complain, don't change bare motor performance and gear ratio of gear system. By optimization soft, MATLAB can calculate the best data for gear parameter. There is a optimization tool box in MATLAB soft, with Min volume and Min weight as design objective, re-design gear parameter and dimension for gear system. Then build 3D by SOLIDWORKS to input ANSYS to analyze stress and deformation. It can be compared between old design and optimization design.From analysis result show, the new design can meet design requirement for this gear train. We can see, in new design, the plastic material replace sinter material in double gear, this design not only reduce weight for gear train, but also, it as one part save process cost. Form end product, the weight reduce 15% and total cost down by 25%. Improve existing problem and customer complain of gear fatigue broken.After design, this product already enter mass product stage, It is shown that the Optimization Design is reasonable and can play an important role in the improvement of products' design quality, decrease of development and production costs and enhancement of market competitiveness.
