Reservoir operation occupies an important position in the water resources development, utilization and management, and has become a hot issue of scholars both at home and abroad. The main work of reservoir optimal operation is divided into two parts, modeling and optimization. The modeling of system is to simulate real water resources system as far as possible and reflect the relationship between various elements of the system by using certain mathematical model. Optimization is to solve the established mathematical model by using certain mathematical method and search for the optimal solution. With the development of reservoir operation research, quite a part of major rivers of China have been studied and get good results. But there are still not wide range of versatility in these results, even there may be lacking for some small and medium-sized basin. With the rapid development of economy, as the main water source river of Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, there are problems such as unfair distribution of water resources in time and space, low utilization rate and assurance rate of water resources in part of the region, water environment pollution and water disaster in Qinjiang river.Based on the situation above, this paper taking Qinjiang river basin in Qinzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for an example, established single target power generation dispatching and single target water supply guarantee rate dispatching and multi-objective reservoir regulation model synthesizing water supply, power generation and ecology. Using the model gradually optimized algorithm (POA) and genetic algorithm (GA), we analyze the ecological water requirement with the data of1957-2007and perform calculations of reservoir operation with the data of2001-2007, compare and analyze the different operating results get from the operation models of different goals, choice an optimal scheduling scheme suitable for Qinjiang river basin of water resources lasting allocation and utilization. The results could supply a certain reference basis for the water resources utilization of Qinjiang river basin.
