To the western inland river transportation hub city of important in Chongqing,river transportation is playing a contact the Midwest and a huge role in collecting anddistributing goods supplies. But there are also many problems such as insufficientinfrastructure ability, the low level of information, science and technology. In order tosolve these problems, we need a new kind of development mode.Using sustainabledevelopment mode is an effective means of solving these problems. In process ofevaluating the river transportation capacity for sustainable development, the methodto determine index weight as the key factor is beyond doubt. The method to ascertainthe index weight mainly have subjective weighting and objective law. Objectiveweighting method is provided to determine the weights according to the main index ofinformation and not included the testee’s subjective factors, so I choose objectiveevaluation method. The entropy value method is better than other objective weightingto reflect the utility value of index information entropy, and more suitable for thesustainable development of river transportation capability evaluation.The concept of entropy originated from Thermodynamics, With the extensiondevelopment of the principle of entropy increase and the concept of entropy, theentropy weight applications have been almost involving all subject areas. Applicationof entropy weight is one of the important fields in the multi-objectivedecision-making process. The size of the entropy has a direct relationship withevaluated object’s index value. According to the method of entropy principle, indexdata standardization method choice and index data property are the important factorsof influencing empowerment.This paper based on entropy theory and entropy weight theory in the applicationof multi-objective decision, and on the basis of consulting many experts and scholars to analyze of specific problems by the entropy method, put forward an improvedmethod of entropy to be suitable for different nature indexes of the evaluation system.Using the traditional method of entropy and the improved entropy method together tocompare the empirical analysis of chongqing river transportation evaluation system, theanalysis results verified that the improved method of entropy had real effectiveness.With Logistic model and Gompertz model as the foundation, a weighted combinationforecast model was constructed. Through the error precision contrast, the results showthat the prediction model was superior to other two kinds of model. Finally, using theweighted combination forecast model forecasted sustainable development value of thefuture years, and the results have the certain reference value.
