Shipboard intermediate frequency electric power system is based on the wave frequency for400Hz of all kinds of load, power supply, and marine equipment. Because of the intermediatefrequency net on shipboard have lots of nonlinear and complexity load, and many of the modernhigh-tech military instruments using in grid equipment make the system needs highly electricpower quality. This equipment is designed mainly to improve the shipboard electric quality, makeintermediate frequency load reactive power compensation and harmonic suppression for powergrid, thus to achieve the purpose to optimize the power quality of system.This paper summarized the present and development situation of reactive powercompensation and harmonic control research, and provides a strong theoretical basis for thewhole design according to the analysis of the basic principle of equipment. Secondly, accordingto the project design requirements, it introduces the design ideas and methods of the main circuitand control circuit system hardware and software detailed. The main circuit includes reactivepower compensation filter and low voltage protection circuit design etc, while to provide a safeand effective design method through the rational selection of intermediate frequency capacitorfor the compensation system. Thereby control circuit hardware includes the detailed design ideasabout signal regulate circuit, DSP control circuit and compound switch circuit. It can realize thecapacitor automatic on and cut at no-voltage, data storage, circuit anti-jamming and fault alarm.Then software used modular design method to operating the data-collection procedure, controlprocedure, switch algorithm subroutine and liquid crystal display (LCD) program, it not onlyimprove the software system general and portability, but also optimize the whole of the equipment operation effect.Finally, the whole operation debugging platform to test and operate the intermediatefrequency reactive power compensation and harmonic control modularly and entirety was set up.Through the operation result, the reactive power compensation and harmonic detection accuracymeet the predicted requirement, and the control algorithm working steady.
