With developing of the electronic control technology for diesel engine, the performancerequirement for speed is more and more important. Adopting advanced control strategies forimproving speed control performance has become core technology. As the speed governingsystem for diesel engine has nonlinear, time-varying and other unpredictable factors. Thetraditional PID strategy has become more and more adaptive. Therefore, a new controlstrategy need to be set and combined with PID and advanced intelligent control technologyusing each respective advantage, in order to improving the speed governing performance, self-adaptability and intelligence.In the subject, basing on D6114diesel system as the controlled object, use theMATLAB/Simulink as the software platform, the dSPACE/Microautobox as the hardwareplatform. With the mean value methods the mathematical model of D6114diesel systemcontroller has been established for control and analysis, which provides a good controlledobject for the design and verification of control strategies.Make the fuzzy control theory onthe speed governing system basing on the speed governing feature. So a new Fuzzyself-tuning PID intelligent controller has been not only developed, but also can modify thecontrol parameters on line. Then not only realize offline simulated, half physical simulation,optimization research, but also being equipped with Machine Test.At the same time compareand analyze the traditional PID and fuzzy control algorithm.The simulation results show that the new design of fuzzy self-tuning PID controlalgorithm is better than traditional PID in improving the diesel engine’s speed governingperformance, and has better self-adaptability.
