It is just like a limited platform with6DOF motion for aircraft taking off and landing, whenthe large ship on its sail at sea. The motion of the ship will make a big influence to the airflow condition above the flight deck; the superstructure located at the starboard of the largeship also will change the air flow condition around it. But aircraft has very strict requirementsto taking off or landing on the carrier, even a slightest mistake would cause serious disasters, therefore, a clear analysis in detail of the air flow condition above the flight deck is necessary. The study on airflow field on foreign naval ships is utilization of wind tunnel experimentand measurement of real ship. However these two methods cost too much, and usually need along test cycle, which can not adapt to the requirements of modern ship design. With the rapiddevelopment of computer technology in recent years, computer CFD numerical simulationtools have been improved gradually, and in foreign countries has been widely used to the shipdesign and the study of the air flow condition of the ship. This article studied and analyzed theair flow conditions above the flight deck through the fluid calculation software FLUENT.In this article, pressure far field was choose as the boundary condition to simulate windtunnel experiment, calculated the influence to air flow conditions coursed by the change ofthe superstructure’s location on the flight deck, in additional, this article calculated theinfluence of ship motion to the air flow condition. This study shows that the method of CFD to study the air flow field above flight deck ofthe ship is feasible, especially considering ship motions. According to the calculations, theship’s unsteady movement can not be ignored. This paper lays a foundation for further study and provides reference for related research.
