Owing to it is difficult to make sure the relative speed between both of the space vehiclesand the precise position of the point of force application during the docking system. If therelative speed between the slave body and the master body is great, and the position of thepoint of force application is adverse, the structure will be impacted great by the impact vibrateof the docking system, and the more great force and moment of contact will ruin the structurein the area of the strength. Just as the mentioned above, analysis of the structural reliability ispaid important position in the study of space vehicle docking system. The main contents ofthis paper are as follows,1) Contact dynamics Finite Element Method (FEM) is used to analyze APAS on thespace vehicles docking system during the contact process, which is used to simulate theprocess of the force during the contact between both of the vehicles. Usually, the guide petaland the capture annulus are supposed as the slave body and the master body respectively, thekinetic equation of the structural which is varied with time also be given during the contact oftwo vehicles. Combining with the Newmark method, the structural response of the guide petalon the space vehicles docking system have been given in every second. On the basis of usingthe second meshing, the most adverse position of the point of force application which cancause to destroy the structure have been given, and which part of the structure is the mostweak would also be found.2) To the contact problem, the structural stochastic responds is analyzed. Using theNewmark method, and combining with the Finite Element Method (FEM) of Taylorexpansion, mathematical statistics of the structural stochastic responds in the space vehiclesdocking system would be analyzed, the formula of the mean value and the variance of theresponse can be given.3) By means of supposing the force of first contact as the stochastic variable, theuncertainty of the relative speed and the direction of the contact force during first contact ofthe vehicles are simulated. The physical parameter of structure and the amplitude of theloading on the structure in the first contact process of the docking system are supposed as thestochastic variable, and combining with the Newmark method, and on the basis of the FiniteElement Method (FEM) of the Taylor expansion, the mean value and the variance of the stochastic structure response on the space vehicles docking system have been given. Using thefirst passage theory, the stochastic structural dynamic reliability in the docking system isgiven. Finally, the impacts of the structural dynamic reliability have been analyzed, which isabout each of stochastic variable and the different coefficient of variation.
