As the high-speed ship, the large hovercraft often make the crew and passengers inpoor amphibious environment, so the study on human factors of large hovercraft have theimportant meanings for ensuring the safety of the navigation and the health and theefficiency of the crew. This article focuses on the topics of the "human-machine-environment" system of thelarge hovercraft, and generalize some preventive measures by the research on the happeningand prevention of the human accidents in the ship environment based on the physiologicaland psychological factors of the crew. In view of its unique man-machine system designenvironment, blending the human factors design concept and methods in each stage of theship design and manufacturing procedures, the paper summarizes the human factors designprogram for the large hovercraft. As well, combining using modern design methods of thefunctionalism and the system theory, the paper generalizes the human factors designanalysis techniques for large hovercraft, and the check list design method. In the man-machine system, the impact of vibration, shock, noise, climate and dust andthe solutions have been studied, meanwhile, such specific human factors design technicalroute as the suspension seat, the internal and external field of view of the bridge, and theconsole of the workstation are present. Finally, the amphibious navigation simulation environment are built by usingDreamScape software, and the design effect is evaluated in the Virtools virtual interactivesoftware environment.
