Because of loading error ships keel over and the hull break, it happened too much in theocean sail. For enhancing the security of the ocean transport and avoiding the accident, thesoftware which can calculate and check the stability and strength on the basis of the input oftanks’ loading status, namely Loading computer. But nowadays, the calculation methods ofthe loading computer usually base on the two dimension integral of table of offset, the resultof this method are not nicety enough and cost too much quantity of calculation. More over itcan only calculate the GZ curve in steady water.In view of the upper existing problems, a new method of floatation and stabilitycalculation which bases on the ship-lines described by the theory of NURBS is studied. Baseon NURBS theory this paper describes the hull of a bulk carrier, compiles the ship-hullforming programs in FORTRAN. Confirm the ship-hull geometrical properties under anywave surface through the calculation of the ship-hull and wave surface. Then the floatingcondition equation has been builded and investigated. Considering the infection of the corn inbulk, calculate the corn heel moment by the heel volume moment in the loading handbook,consummate the check of the stability. Through empty ship weight distribution and thebuoyancy curve which calculated by the ship-hull geometrical properties under any wavesurface, calculate and check the shear force and bend moment of ship-hull in steady water.This paper introduce the flow and checking criterion of the modules of the software. Itdiscusses the stowage software developed with Visual Basic and transfer the stabilityprograms, designs loading software for a bulk carrier. First it calculate the tonnage and thecenter of gravity, then calculate and check the floating condition and stability in the steadywater, validate the reliability of the stability in steady water, then calculate the GZ curveunder the different wave height and length,and come true the calculation of the stability inwaves for the loading software. At last it calculate the shear force and bend moment of theship-hull in steady wave.
