Hydropower resource is a clean energy source with no pollution. It is rich inhydropower resources in our country with grand area, which is especially suitable formiddle1ittle hydropower resources. With the fast development of national economy,the demand of electric power is increasing steadily. After large—scale hydropowerstations are fully exploited, there is a large amount of middle, little hydropowerstations which already existed and under building. To improve their technology andmanagement standard, it is high time to develop hydropower station computersupervisory control system.The thesis analyzes the development status of the existing hydropowermonitoring system, introduces the functions of Hydropower Monitoring TerminalUnit, and uses advanced digital signal processing technology to design theHydropower Monitoring Terminal Unit. It uses floating-point DSP TMS320F28335produced in Texas Instruments (TI) as the core processing unit. It chooses Maxim’slatest8independent input channel,16-bit, simultaneous-sampling ADC MAX11046to sample the analogy signals. It uses Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm tocomplete the analysis, procession and calculation of the sampling data. It has serialcommunication interface and Ethernet communication interface in order to completethe data transmission between the Distribution Monitoring Terminal Unit and themaster station or other communication devices.This paper mainly describes the implementation of the monitoring device indetail. It propose the system design of monitoring device, including hardwarestructure and software composition. Specifically giving the hardware structurediagram and software flow of monitoring device. It expounds the hardware circuitdesign of Ethernet communication and the implementation of software design ofEthernet communication by programming the hardware protocol stack chip, Finaldescribe the software design of IEC60870-5-104protocol in detail, including designideas of protocol and flow of programming. Final describe the Master design based onZ u Tai Wang.
