Frame-shear wall structure has been widely used in the high rise all over theworld due to its good ability to resist the seismic load, especially in our country. The frame-shear wall system is studied in this paper, which is a widely usedstructure type.Optimal design for the reasonable stiffness of shearing walls isdone. In earthquake area, if the rigidity of shear wall choosed is slightly, it cannot eaonot reach the goal that resist horizontal earthquake function; If increases therigiditythen earthquake function possible to enlarge correspondingly. After all, thereis a issue that how to confirm the rigidity of shear wall.lf the rigidity can satisfy thestandard about the displacement limiting value and the component ductility, andcauses quantity of shearing forcewa4smallest,the rigidity is an optimum value. This article first summarized some experimental which predecessors has done, then obtained that anti-seismic structure design mast control the between-storeydistortion and total distortion of structure. Using distortion to Description thePerfonmanCe parameter of anti-seismic structure may not only manifest thestructural unit the extent of damage betterbut also can sufficient control theperformance Capability of the non-structural component. The shear wall rigidity determined by the rigidity characteristic value ofstruetare, in situation that section size of beam and column and shear stiffnessbasicly determined. The third chapter of this paper obtains the expression ofendogenic force and displacement throughanalysing the joint operation of frame and shear wall, and proposes a method ofsolving structure best rigidity characteristic value. The fourth chapter infers the bestrigidity the expression of shear wall based on the limited value the structureapex. Finally, a case study applied direct this method for a twelve-storey frame-wallbuildings is included, and the analysis of the frame-wall buildings with regular typeare completed.
