The electric power quality problems are caused by wind power integration.The installed capacity of wind power is limited, and the power grid safety andreliable operation there are negative impact. It is important to study the maincauses and safety measures. The genetic mechanism of the electric power qualityproblems (voltage fluctuation, harmonic and voltage deviation) caused by windpower integration is analyzed. The adaptive lifting wavelet transform algorithm andthe dynamic compensation control strategy is used to detect and locate the electricpower quality problems accurately and control voltage stability reasonably. In thispaper, the main work is as follows:(1) The mechanism of the electric power quality problems caused by the windpower integration is analyzed. Direct at the randomness intermittency and nonlinearcharacteristics of wind power output, based on the inherent characteristics of thewind turbine, the causes and dangers of the electric power quality problems(voltage fluctuation, harmonic and voltage deviation) caused by wind powerintegration is analyzed.(2) An improved adaptive lifting wavelet transform algorithm is presented.The maximization of the local gradient method and minimization of the each layermean square error of prediction method is used to select the updater and predictoradaptively, so that the electric power quality problems caused by the wind powerintegration can be detected and located accurately, and also the details can beseparated.(3) A SVC method to stabilize the voltage of wind power system is given out.Direct at the rapid adjustment, high reliability and small loss characteristics of thecompensation control at the point of common coupling in wind power system. ATCR-FC type SVC is put to use, some related models are established, somerequired modules are designed, and a PI control strategy based on the currentfeedback is given out. So that the detected electric power quality problems causedby the wind power integration can be restrained effectively.The MATLAB R2009b software is used to simulate, the adaptive liftingwavelet transform algorithm is used to detect the voltage fluctuation and harmonicsignals, the results show that it is a good way to detect and separate the details. The adaptive lifting wavelet transform algorithm is used to locate the voltagefluctuation, harmonic and voltage deviation signals, the results show that it is agood way to locate the incident. Through to contrast the bus voltage when use ornot use the SVC device which is simulated in MATLAB R2009b/Simulink, whenthe TCR-FC type SVC is used, the bus voltage can be stabilized at the rated voltage,the requirements of grid security and stability and reliable operation are achieved.So it is a good way to restrain the detected electric power quality problems causedby the wind power integration.
