Distribution network reconfiguration is one of the important content of the distributionmanagement system, is an important basis for distribution dispatch control. Its purpose is tomake a distribution network in the case of normal or abnormal operation, by changing thecombination of the switch to improve the distribution network operation of some index, Suchas slip load balance rate, active power loss and electric energy quality. To power supplysecurity, reliability and economy.This paper discusses the distribution network reconfiguration is divided into two cases.Under normal circumstances, by reconfiguration to improve power supply reliability andeconomy. Under fault conditions, by fault restoration to restore power supply take intoaccount the power loss and the switching operation number. At present, the main algorithmsfor distribution network reconfiguration are mathematical optimization method, the optimalflow pattern method, branch exchange method, and artificial intelligent algorithm. Bycomparison, the genetic algorithm(GA) has many characteristics suitable for distributionnetwork reconfiguration. So this paper combines the distribution network operationcharacteristics, from the point of convergent speed and astringency of an improved geneticalgorithm, proposed the application of catastrophic genetic algorithm (GCA) and isolationniche genetic algorithm (INGA) to distribution system reconfiguration and the application ofmembrane computing (MC) to fault service restoration.According to the radial operation characteristics of distribution network, as well as in thegenetic evolution of a large number of infeasible solutions generated. A method of the powerisland checking based on the adjacency matrix is proposed, combines the nature of tree ingraph theory, improves crossover and mutation operations, ensure that chromosomescorresponding to the feasible solutions in the genetic manipulation, thus greatly improve thesearch efficiency of the algorithm.The chromosome decoding and power flow calculation has a direct relationship, theforward and backward substitution method for power flow calculation is used in this paper.The population in genetic evolution process is continuously updating, the correspondingdistribution network topological structure is also changed, so the slip calculation sequence is akey problem of forward and backward substitution method.In the light that the radial operation characteristics of distribution network, the shortoperation principle of circuit is referenced in this paper, reconfiguration power flow algorithmbased on short operation is proposed, which laid the foundation for distribution networkreconfiguration. Finally, IEEE-33nodes distribution system and the United States PG&E-69nodesdistribution system for simulation, the results show that the method proposed in this paper inthe reconfiguration of distribution networks is feasible and effective.
