The reconfiguration of distribution network plays an important role in achieving economic operation and improving the reliability of power supply. Distribution network reconfiguration is a nonlinear combinatorial optimization problem, which is one of the important means to realize the optimal operation of power system. The binary crisscross optimization algorithm (BCSO) proposed in this paper is based on the binary research of crisscross optimization algorithm (CSO). The study of distribution network reconfiguration in this paper is developed by binary crisscross optimization algorithm.The proposed binary crisscross optimization algorithm in this paper can easily solve binary optimization by transforming the size of particle into a probabilistic model, and the algorithm put forward is based on novel crisscross optimization algorithm (CSO) with advantage in solution accuracy and convergence speed by adopting dual search mechanism including horizontal and vertical crossovers.The former has powerful global search ability while the latter keeps swarm diversity and avoids local optima problem. At the same time, According to the operation mode and structure characteristics of distribution network. Breadth-first is used in distribution network topological structure analysis in this paper. And the calculation speed of distribution load flow is greatly improved by adopting back/forward substitution method based on node-layer. Meanwhile, a large number of invalid solutions will be produced in the process of distribution network reconfiguration, which seriously affects the efficiency of calculation, a simplified model based on the basic loop distribution network is used to reduce the generation of infeasible solutions, and the mathematical model of distribution network reconfiguration is established with the minimum active power loss as the objective. Thirdly, with the development of distributed generation, the access of distributed generator will also have some influence on the distribution network reconfiguration.In this paper, the influence of distributed generator access to the distribution network reconfiguration is discussed with different access capacity and access location.Finally, the proposed method and model for sloving distribution network reconfiguration was simulated on classic standard IEEE and PG&E systems with 33 and 69 nodes respectively.The results and analysis of simulation demonstrated feasibility of BCSO to solve distribution network reconfiguration problem. Compared with other methods, the proposed algorithm has significant advantage in terms of global search ability, convergence speed and robustness. The impact of distributed generator access on distribution network reconfiguration shows that:the distributed generator of different capacity and different access points will affect the reconfiguration of distribution network, also affect the network loss and voltage quality of distribution network.
