reactive power compensation is the method that use reactive power control measures toimprove reactive power distribution in power system and voltage level,and then reduce theloss of electric network and the power oftransmission and transformation.So reactive powercompensation device has the extremely vital role in power system. optimal allocation ofcompensation equipment can not only reducing the loss of electric network but also solvingthe problem of system voltage harmonic.This paper analysisd the defects of switch apparatus inputting capacitor.Using theprinciple of capacitors for reactive power compensation in output capacitive reactive power,its terminal voltage is proportional to the square, regulating transformers adjust the voltageacross the capacitor to adjust its output capacity to meet the requirements of the grid voltagereactive power compensation. This paper also explained the advantages and the necessity ofthe new reactive dynamic compensation device.on the basis of the theoretical analysis, combined with the Engineering practice, thispaper completed the overall design of regulator type of power grid’s reactive power automaticcompensation device, to determine the components to the principle of selecting. For thedevice characteristics, this paper integrated multiple control principle advantages,.Theintegrated control principle of voltage and reactive power is adop-ted and the seven-zoneswitching criterion is used to avoid switching vibration and to achieve optimal compensationeffectThe hardware system used the dual-CPU architecture controller which had DSP(TMS320F2812)-based, supplemented by the microcontroller(AT89S52).It Completedcontroling and measurement algorithms efficiently by using exactly data processing. SCM ismainly used for human-computer interaction and communication and system operation. Dataexchange between the two used the structure of dual-port RAM. Software is using the designmethod which having hierarchical division of the module. It divided into two subsystems asthe core of MCU and DSP.It also designed the overall structure of the software, DSPsubsystem structure and microcontroller subsystem structure.After the theoretical and practical test, the device achieved the requirements of therelevant standards of the electricity industry. It has runned as a pilot in Heilongjiang and otherprovinces of rural power system and achieved good results.
