Research On The Application Of The Landscape Gardening Art Of Chinese Classical Garden In The Contemporary Residential Environment Design

With the continuous development of social economy and improvement of people’s standard of living, cities are also constantly updated by their appearances. Residents’demand for housing has gradually shifted from having their own one to having a superior one. Living in a beautiful and elegant environment has become the pursuit of an ideal life.People have been isolated from nature, ever since they built their first house and city, thus, people created garden to have more direct contact with nature. Chinese classical garden is an important heritage of human civilization. It has a long history in gardening experience and refined gardening art.The essence of gardening shall be scientific first, then art., it is used to solve all the problems relating to people’s utilization of land and outdoor space. So it could be used as a science of designing guidance of the environment of residential area, to help to upgrade the quality of residential environment. Based on the above understanding, this article took Chinese classical gardening art as its theoretical basis, to study its application in the environment design of residential area.Firstly, it sorts out and summarizes the related studies of design of Chinese classical garden and residential environment. It makes a conclusion in general of the contemporary residential environment design, including related concepts, residential environment classification, formation and the environmental demand of residents. Then, it advances the theoretical basis of application in contemporary residential environment, i.e. Chinese classical gardening art, and illustrates and points out the gardening ideas, elements and techniques contained therein.Then, by briefing the general environmental layouts of some selected typical residential area, through investigation, in Hefei city as examples, it pointedly analyses the contents of ideas, elements and techniques in the five residential environment design, and summarizes the diversity of its application in different eras. By the foregoing analysis, it is concluded that the application methods of Chinese classical gardening art, in the design of contemporary residential environment, are multi-constructive idea, multi-space layout and multi-function integrated. Finally, combined with the execution of layout and environment design in Suzhou City Tuo Bay Hanchizi discrict as example, through the above-mentioned three methods, points out how these ideas, elements and techniques of Chinese classical gardening art, are applied in the residential environment design. Hope that through this paper to emphasize Chinese classical gardening art and its modern significance, and to perfect the design theories of residential environment, and therefore to upgrade the quality of urban residential environment.
